Round 1 Recap

PLAYOFFS! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! LETS GOOOOOOOO. Alright everyone and welcome back to another recap! We will be recapping the Wildcard games this week! Later we will make a quick pass at the consolation ladder, but our main focus will be on this week’s biggest losers. 2 matches were played in the wildcard round, Sween’s Ween (9) versus the HF GNUs (8) and THE HERD (7) versus the Covington Catgirls (10).

Just a friendly reminder, these teams all had BYE weeks: Team MeekDADDY (1), The Trennins Qwerty (2), Fairport Phishermen (3), Skyline Chili Three-ways (4), Njigbas in Paris (5), and The Chungus Champions (6).

Starting off with the Ween and GNUs. It was a tough match, but the Ween easily came out on top, beating the competition 144-92! With multiple players crossing 20 points, and all but 3 players crossing the 10 point threshold, the Ween move onto the next round, where they face off against the feared Team MeekDADDY(1)! Will the Ween, with the lowest rank remaining, continue the victory streak or will they succumb as well to the losing side?

Onto our other matchup! While they fought bravely, the Catgirls unfortunately fell to THE HERD 127-110. A valiant effort was put out by both teams, and the Herd trampled onwards. This unit of a team is proving they can run without a back dedicated to running. The Catgirls had a fairy tale season, and promised to be back and better than ever!

To the consolation ladder! In rapid fire succession… kOkmagics (12) barely edged out the LA Vertiboys (11) 94-91. The Hamilton Football Team (14) embarrassed themselves while facing the Clifton Crack Pipes (13) 91-71. And the Boise Business Bussies (16) knocked out gli ladri di culo (15) 91-87. Close games, we can’t wait for next week.

Looking forward to this week, here are your matchups! Sween’s Ween (9) at Team MeekDADDY (1), watch Sunday at 1pm. Next, the Njigbas in Paris (5) at Skyline Chili Three-ways (4) Watch Sunday at 4pm. The Chungus Champions (6) at the Fairport Phishermen (3). Watch in Primetime Sunday night as the defending champions* take on their first playoff game! And finally, THE HERD (7) at The Trennins Qwerty (2), watch on MNF.

Stay tuned for the LBFL Honors, coming early January! We will deliver all awards for the season, and we will receive a special surprise from Commissioner Tim!
